Information stored by the app

ShotNest stores the records you create, including injection and dose logs, supplies and inventory history, weight and body measurements, side effects, goals, learning progress, saved items, and settings, in the app’s local storage on your iPhone so the app works offline.

When iCloud Sync is available, if you explicitly enable it, ShotNest also stores and reconciles those structured records in your private CloudKit database. This provides recovery and cross-device continuity through the Apple Account signed in on your devices without creating a ShotNest account. ShotNest does not access CloudKit before you enable this feature.

Private CloudKit records count toward your iCloud storage. They are accessible only to you by default and are not visible to ShotNest in Apple’s developer tools. ShotNest does not receive your Apple Account credentials or operate a separate server that receives these detailed app records.

ShotNest does not include advertising or third-party analytics, and the app does not automatically send your detailed ShotNest records to the developer. Structured record sync is provided by Apple through iCloud. If you separately opt in to Community Insights when it is available, the limited contribution described below is sent to ShotNest.

Apple-provided analytics and diagnostics

Apple may provide ShotNest with aggregated information about App Store performance, including downloads, installations, deletions, and retention.

When users choose to share analytics and diagnostic information with Apple, ShotNest may also receive aggregated usage, performance, and crash information.

These reports do not provide ShotNest with users’ detailed medication records, health records, photos, notes, or other content stored in the app.

Optional Community Insights

Community Insights is an optional, first-party contribution system that helps ShotNest understand broad patterns in recorded supply and logged shots. It operates only when it is available in your version of ShotNest and after you opt in. ShotNest does not create its random backend identity or send a contribution unless you opt in during onboarding or in Privacy & Data settings.

The app derives monthly summaries on your iPhone. They can include which catalog medications you recorded, pen and vial counts, remaining milligrams, the form and broad strength range of active supply, and the amount of supply you added to ShotNest. For compounded medication, a known source selected in the app may also be included. Shot summaries include the number of shots and total logged dose by medication and month. The contribution also indicates whether supply records exist and how many records could not be included. ShotNest may use large-group totals to improve the app and describe community trends publicly or in discussions with potential business partners. These are self-recorded app entries, not verified pharmacy stock, purchases, refills, adherence, or clinical outcomes.

Community Insights does not include individual shot or supply records, exact event dates, notes, injection sites, lot numbers, label text or photos, weight, other Apple Health data, contact information, advertising identifiers, or precise location. The raw pharmacy or manufacturer field is not sent.

Supabase stores and processes the contribution for ShotNest using a random, pseudonymous identity. The mobile app cannot read individual contribution rows. ShotNest limits reporting to aggregates and suppresses each medication or source breakdown until at least 100 participating installations are represented. An installation is not necessarily a unique person. Supabase may process routine network and security information, such as an IP address, to deliver and protect the service. Community Insights is not used to target ads or referrals to individuals, and ShotNest does not sell individual contributions.

You can stop future contributions at any time in Privacy & Data settings. Monthly summaries may remain for up to 24 months after the last successful refresh, or you can delete them immediately using Delete My Contribution. ShotNest automatically deletes inactive contributions and their anonymous backend identity after 24 months.

Notifications

If you enable shot reminders, ShotNest schedules local notifications on your iPhone using your saved shot plan.

ShotNest does not register a push token or send your schedule to a notification server. You can turn reminders off in ShotNest or manage notification permission in iOS Settings.

Apple Health

Apple Health access is optional. If you grant access, ShotNest can read the body measurements you select and copy them into the app’s local storage.

If you separately enable Health export, ShotNest can save weights you log to Apple Health.

Selected measurements can include weight, height, body composition, and paired systolic and diastolic blood-pressure readings.

Health data is accessed only for the app features you choose. ShotNest does not use Health data for advertising or sell it.

Deleting ShotNest’s local data does not delete information already saved in Apple Health or revoke Health permissions. You can manage those permissions in the Health app.

Apple Watch

If you use the companion Apple Watch app, ShotNest sends a limited, read-only snapshot through Apple Watch connectivity.

The snapshot can include your next-shot schedule, medication and dose, suggested injection site, and active supply status. The Watch app and widget cache this snapshot for display. Public complication content excludes medication and dose.

This transfer does not use a ShotNest server.

Camera and photos

If you use supply-label scanning, ShotNest processes photos you take or select on your iPhone using Apple Vision.

Resized source photos and recognized label text are saved locally with your supply record so you can review them. Source photos remain only on the iPhone where you added them. When iCloud Sync is available and enabled, the structured supply record and recognized text sync through your private iCloud database, but the source image files do not.

Support communications

If you email support, your message and any information you choose to include are delivered through your email provider.

That information is used only to respond to your request and provide support. Please avoid sending medication labels, health records, or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for your request.

Former early access list

If you previously joined the ShotNest early access list, we collected the email address you submitted and shared it with Loops, our email service provider, to manage the list and announce availability.

We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. You can unsubscribe using the link in an email or by contacting support@shotnest.com.

The early access list did not send any of your ShotNest app records or health information to us or to Loops.

Website analytics

The ShotNest website uses Google Analytics to help us understand visits and improve the website. Google Analytics may use cookies and receive information about your browser, device, and how you use the website.

This website analytics disclosure is separate from Community Insights. Website analytics do not include your ShotNest app records or health information stored on your iPhone, and Google Analytics is not included in the ShotNest app.

Retention and deletion

Your structured ShotNest records remain locally and, if iCloud Sync is available and enabled, in your private iCloud database until you delete them. You can pause iCloud Sync without deleting either copy. Delete iCloud Copy pauses sync and deletes only the private cloud copy, leaving records on that iPhone intact.

You can use Delete ShotNest Data in Profile settings to remove local records and saved label photos and, when iCloud Sync is available and authorized, propagate structured-record deletion through iCloud. This also cancels scheduled ShotNest reminders and sends a cleared snapshot to a paired Apple Watch when Watch connectivity is available.

Deleting the iPhone app by itself removes its local files from that device; structured records can restore from iCloud after reinstalling only if sync was available and enabled and a cloud copy remains. Apple Health data remains separate.

If you participate in Community Insights when it is available, turning sharing off stops future updates but does not immediately remove monthly summaries. Use Delete My Contribution for immediate deletion. Otherwise, ShotNest deletes the summaries and their random backend identity after 24 months without a successful refresh.

Delete ShotNest Data also attempts to delete an existing Community Insights contribution; if the iPhone is offline, the app saves the deletion request and retries when the backend becomes available.
